Real baseball might be no closer to happening, but video game baseball is fast approaching with MLB The Show 22. Sony San Diego announced both the feature reveal schedule and the MLB The Show 22 tech test on Tuesday.

MLB The Show 22 has an added feature of online co-op, where you and your friends can team up for 2v2 or 3v3 matches. Online co-op, along with the technical test, will be the focus of Sony San Diego’s first feature reveal on February 16. Here is the full schedule of streams leading up to launch:

Alongside the online co-op announcement, Sony San Diego teased a couple of new legends in the game. Fitting the theme of co-op, the Minnesota Twins’ M&M Boys Justin Morneau and Joe Mauer were announced as legends in MLB The Show 22.

The MLB The Show 22 tech test begins on February 17 and runs through February 23. Unlike previous years, there is no sign up process and no waiting for approval. You simply download the technical test from your console’s online store.

All players will need to take part in the tech test is a valid Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, or Nintendo Switch Online ID.

If you play on Xbox, MLB The Show 22 will be included on Xbox Game Pass at launch on April 5. If you want to purchase the standard or premium editions of game for PlayStation or Nintendo, or want to buy a premium edition to get the game 4 days early on April 1 for Xbox, you can do so here.

MLB The Show 22 launches on all three consoles on April 5, 2022.
