For fans of Cyberpunk 2077 that have been waiting for the next-gen version of the game to arrive, good news arrived today: a next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077 is now available to download for the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

The upgrade comes as part of patch 1.5, which addresses several things in Cyberpunk 2077. Central to the patch are improvements to important game mechanics like driving, combat, and AI behavior. Additionally, there are changes to the open world, how we experience the game in terms of visuals and performance, and even the ability to rent apartments.

For visuals and performance, CD Projekt Red has given players options with Cyberpunk 2077 on next-gen. If ray-tracing is your thing, Ray-Tracing mode will run the game at 30 FPS with scaling 4K resolution. It will have “High/Half Resolution” screen-space reflections quality. Performance Mode does not include ray-tracing but will run Cyberpunk 2077 at 60 FPS and 4K resolution on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Performance Mode will feature a “Medium/Half Resolution” SSR.

Note: If you own an Xbox Series S, only Performance Mode will be available on that console.
Here is a list of some of the features of patch 1.5. If you want to look at the complete list of improvements, see the patch notes here.

What’s In The Cyberpunk 2077 Update?

If you play Cyberpunk 2077 on next-gen, you’re breathtaking

Night City: Crowds will do a better job of reacting to your actions. They might even pull a gun on you. Or they might just run away.

Apartments: Have you always wanted your own little corner of Night City? Now’s the time, with apartments available to rent. Use the EZ Estates app on your computer to finally move out of your parent’s basement.

Combat: AI should now act as if they have been in combat before. They will react more accordingly to your actions, too.

Driving and Traffic: Overall, driving should feel more realistic and responsive. AI drivers should drive in a way that makes more sense. You should also notice more pedestrians out and about while you are driving around Night City.

Money: Cyberpunk 2077’s economy has been balanced a bit. You will get more cash for completing quests and doing other things in the game. At the same time, cars and other items in the game will not cost you as much money to buy.

Skills: Skill trees have been revamped in Cyberpunk 2077. You will see new branches in some cases, and other perks completely gone. If you had previously saved a game, you would have to completely reassign perks.

If you have not played it yet, you can purchase Cyberpunk 2077 for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X.
