It’s not one of the big premium live events, but hey, WWE Hell in a Cell can still be fun, right? The demonic structure has been home to some of WWE’s most memorable moments over the years, and the 2022 edition of Hell in a Cell promises to give us some more.

There will be belts on the line and grudges finally put to rest this week. Let’s take a look at everything you need to know about WWE Hell in a Cell 2022:

WWE Hell in a Cell 2022 Date and Time

The 2022 edition of WWE Hell in a Cell will take place on Sunday, June 5. The event begins at 8:00 PM Eastern Time with the pre-show starting one hour earlier. The event is taking place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago.

If you are one of our friends in the UK, the Hell in a Cell event starts bright and early at 1:00 AM on Monday, June 6. The pre-show will kickoff at midnight.

Standard WWE premium live events last around three hours, so expect Hell in a Cell to conclude shortly before 11:00 PM Eastern.

How to Watch

If you are in the United States, you can stream the event on Peacock, which is where the WWE Network is housed now. Internationally, use the WWE Network to access the premium live event.

Peacock has been known to have intermittent streaming issues with high traffic WWE events, so don’t wait until right before Hell in a Cell starts to get in.

WWE Hell in a Cell 2022 Card

It is confirmed that Roman Reigns will not be competing in the Hell in a Cell premium live event. This could be the beginning of a new treatment of his character where he is saved for larger events and not competing in every event.

However, there are still a fair amount of intriguing bouts taking place at Hell in a Cell 2022:

As of now, here is the card for Hell in a Cell this week:

  • Ezekiel vs Kevin Owens
  • 2-on-1 Handicap Match: Omos & MVP vs Bobby Lashley
  • The Judgement Day vs Finn Balor & AJ Styles & Liv Morgan
  • United States Championship: Theory (c) vs Mustafa Ali
  • Hell in a Cell: Cody Rhodes vs Seth “Freakin” Rollins
  • Raw Women’s Championship: Bianca Belair (c) vs Becky Lynch vs Asuka
  • No Holds Barred: Madcap Moss vs. Happy Corbin

Chances are that we will see at least one more match added on Friday – perhaps another Hell in a Cell bout?

2022 WWE Hell in a Cell Predictions

Our team of WWE super experts has thoughts on Hell in a Cell. Let’s dive in to what we think is going to happen:

Ezekiel vs Kevin Owens

Tyler:

I have been a big fan of Kevin Owens for years. To see him get the moment he got at Wrestlemania this year was incredible and very deserved. That said, it’s hard to say what will happen in this match against Elias – I mean Ezekiel. The biggest problem is, what do you do with either guy if they lose? How many losses in premium live events can Kevin Owens take? Sadly, I think we’re going to find out.

Prediction: Ezekiel wins

Richard:

I mean this entire Owens and Ezekiel program has been strangely entertaining over the past few months. It has allowed a lot of the mid carders such as Chad Gable and Otis a bit more screen time. Which for me is always a plus, as I do believe both of them are brilliant. Similar to Tyler, I do think that a loss for either of these superstars could be quite bad look for them in the long run. For that reason, I think this match smells of a DQ.

Prediction: Ezekiel Wins via DQ

Steven:

Owens getting buried in the mid-card against Elias Ezekiel tells you all you need to know about how WWE has been booking him. Like Tyler, I’m glad he got the match at Mania against Stone Cold but at some point he needs to start winning. He’s too talented a wrestler to keep losing PPV matches. But he’s going to lose again this Sunday, and I agree with Richard in that it will be a DQ.

Prediction: Ezekiel Wins via Disqualification

2-on-1 Handicap Match: Omos & MVP vs Bobby Lashley

Tyler:

I predict shenanigans to ensue here, with MVP appealing to his friendship with Lashley. Ultimately though, this comes down to the fact that Omos is still Omos. There are big limitations in the ring. Vince loves his giants, but I don’t see a scenario where Lashley doesn’t win here. MVP is in the match to take the pin and protect Omos a bit.

Prediction: Bobby Lashley Wins

Richard:

This feud for me has been extremely hit and miss, and I do think that it reminds me so much of a classic early ruthless aggression era feud. And yes, I do think implementing Cedric Alexander into the feud has been interesting, I just don’t really care about it. But alas, Vince seems to be looking to make his next monster heel with Omos, and as much as I do think that the fans are starting to get behind Bobby. You have to remember that to make Omos a monster you have to have him win.

Prediction: Omos Wins

Steven:

Omos is not an entertaining wrestler, but he’s gigantic and that’s what Vince loves. Lashley is going to take some bumps in this match but will ultimately get his hands on MVP. I think he’s going to spear Omos, but end up pinning Lashley.

Prediction: Bobby Lashley wins pinning MVP

The Judgement Day vs Finn Balor & AJ Styles & Liv Morgan

Tyler:

There’s a few different ways this could go. I feel like the right move here is to have Judgement Day get the win, since you don’t (shouldn’t) create a new faction only to beat them right away. Nexus, anyone? That said, WWE has a history of botching these kinds of stories. Still, Judgement Day prevails, possibly with a new member interfering and being revealed.

Prediction: Judgement Day Wins

Richard:

I think this one is kind of obvious, I cannot see Judgement Day losing this match, especially due to the fact that they are a new stable… but it has happened before… Wyatt family anyone? But I think due to how strong they’ve seemed on Raw, and the fact it is supposed to be this new era Brood kind of thing, I just cannot see them lose. I think the question more is who do you think will join the stable next?

Prediction: Judgement Day Wins

Steven:

Shenanigans should be the name of this PPV because this one won’t be clean and it shouldn’t be either. WWE would be well served to continue building Judgement Day as a monstrous heel faction though WWE tends to WWE so who knows. Judgement Day wins with a new member being shown.

Prediction: Judgement Day Wins

United States Championship: Theory (c) vs Mustafa Ali

Tyler:

I have been a Mustafa Ali fan for a while, and it is nice to see him get a chance to shine a bit. There’s is something that can be done with Theory if Ali wins here – the “protege” failing and having to face the wrath of Vince and maybe carve out his own path, etc. Or if they want to take the United States Championship off of him for a Money in the Bank briefcase run. But nah. This is WWE. Theory will win this match, but it won’t be clean.

Prediction: Theory Wins

Richard:

It was actually kind of a welcome surprise to see Mustafa come back, especially with how negative he has spoken about the company over the past year. He is a fantastic wrestler and is extremely talented on the mic when he wants to be. It is nice to see him in a program with Theory for the title so early back in his return. But due to the rumors of a Theory vs Cena match at Summerslam, they have to keep him looking strong. It must also be mentioned that over the past few weeks Ciampa has also been a thorn in Mustafa’s tail. So for these reasons I think the result is very obvious.

Prediction: Theory Wins

Steven:

Vince’s protégé is being built to compete against Roman Reigns in a couple of years, so he needs to win a lot more than he loses. If the titles weren’t unified, then Theory losing to set him up for the MITB briefcase would make sense, but that’s not happening.

Prediction: Theory Wins

Hell in a Cell: Cody Rhodes vs Seth “Freakin” Rollins

Tyler:

I feel like Cody’s treatment in WWE so far in his return is as much about MJF and other top AEW talent as it is Cody. Vince reportedly LOVES MJF and is willing to pay him premium money when his contract is up. Cody’s treatment is a gesture that AEW talent won’t be buried if they come to WWE. Also, Cody Rhodes is a pretty good professional wrestler. After this rivalry is done, can we please get Seth Rollins another title run? He keeps being the good soldier, putting on great matches where he takes the pin.

Prediction: Cody Rhodes Wins

Richard:

Ohhhhhhh Cody, the plumbers favorite son, the nightmare, and in my opinion the best professional wrestler on the planet. His return has been nothing but perfect. He has been built as a true top babyface, that in my opinion Raw has been missing for a long time. His feud with Seth has been stellar, the story has been captivating, and is one of the main reasons why I tune in every week. I think due to Money in the Bank coming up, I think that this is the perfect way to end the feud, with Cody looking strong, and inevitably qualifying for the MITB ladder match in the near future.

Prediction Cody Rhodes Wins

Steven:

As much as I like what WWE has been doing with Rhodes, I’m tired of seeing Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins getting buried every single match. Seth had a great match against Roman and then was immediately removed from the title picture. And now he’s going to lose his third straight match against Cody. Hooray WWE.

Prediction Cody Rhodes Wins

Raw Women’s Championship: Bianca Belair (c) vs Becky Lynch vs Asuka

Tyler:

Three of the very best in the WWE women’s division are squaring off here. This should be an entertaining match, but WWE is saving the Bianca and Becky Lynch rematch for a major premium live event, so Asuka is inserted here to take the pin and protect Becky. No way WWE is taking the strap off of Bianca so fast after she just won it again at Mania.

Prediction: Bianca Wins

Richard:

This is going to be such a good match! Considering the fact that it wasn’t supposed to be this match apparently, until after Naomi and Sasha walked out. I am extremely satisfied with the result. This match features not only three of the best women’s wrestlers in the world. But three of the best wrestlers period, in the world. With it being in the cell, there is so much opportunity for them to explore the aftermath of Crazy Becky wanting her belt back. But with Bianca only getting the belt at Mania, and with the inevitable title match with Rhea in the future, I think the result of this match is also very obvious.

Prediction: Bianca Wins

Steven:

This should be a fun match but it’s too obvious what’s going to happen. WWE owes Bianca for having her lose in two seconds at Summerslam last year, but they also need to protect Becky a little. So as Tyler mentioned, The Empress is here to take the pin. I’d love for Asuka to hold the title for one more run, but it’s not going to happen here if ever.

Prediction: Bianca Wins

No Holds Barred Match: Madcap Moss vs. Happy Corbin

Tyler:

This could go a couple of different ways. Either the no holds barred stipulation is here to allow Happy Corbin to engage in shenanigans and get the shady win against Madcap Moss to prolong this feud, or it is there to allow Madcap to completely obliterate Corbin with no DQ. Personally, I think the first option is better, but I feel WWE will go with the second so they can get the Madcap Moss push started in full.

Prediction: Madcap Moss Wins

Steven:

This match was just added on Friday. It should be a fairly fun match depending on how much you’ve enjoyed the Moss/Corbin storyline. If this was a normal 1v1 match, I’d probably give the edge to Moss, but I think Corbin finds a way to pull this out through some legal cheap shots.

Prediction: Happy Corbin Wins
